Machine Gun
A Machine Gun is a fully automatic and rifled firearm designed for sustained direct fire for as long as the trigger is held down. Machine guns are generally attached to a bipod or tripod, a fixed mount or a heavy weapons platform for stability against recoil. Many machine guns also use belt feeding and open bolt operation.
Machine guns can be further categorized as light machine guns, medium machine guns, heavy machine guns, general-purpose machine guns, and squad automatic weapons.[1]
Unless they are an energy machine gun, machine guns shoot kinetic projectiles made of a variety of materials, such as copper, lead, steel, polymer, rubber, and even wax. Slug weapons require ammo in order to operate.[2]
