At their height, the Ewoche population numbered in the trillions. Scattered across multiple worlds throughout the quadrant, they led one of the largest empires in the history of the galaxy. This all changed when their civilisation was targeted by the Vassu, and they were wiped out. A few hundred still live today, kept alive by an experimental life-extension procedure made possible through technology and magic. The few Ewoche that remain have ever-lasting life and are ageless, though they are also emaciated and infertile.

Modern Ewoche live in small communes or roam the galaxy alone, secluded from other civilised species. The Ewoche were once paragons of progress, both in the realms of magic and technology. Their affinity to crystals allowed them to innovate beyond anything the galaxy had seen before or since. However, most surviving Ewoche are cynical, withdrawn, and bitter. They spend most of their time on selfish pursuits or finding ways to destroy the Vassu threat.

With the Vassu close to wiping out life in the star cluster, some sympathetic Ewoche revealed themselves in order to fight back, with the aim of defeating the impossibly ancient android army once and for all.

Ewoche are noble in appearance, with horns protruding from their temples, hoofed feet, and long, tapered tails. Their skin colours include pale blue, pale red or similarly desaturated colours, including darker ones such as green or indigo. Their natural hair is coloured black, grey, or white and tinted with various colours, such as red, blue, or purple. Their most distinctive feature is their horns, of which they normally have two—one on each temple. The horns can take on many designs, depending mostly on parentage.
