Determining Dice
Every action falls under either Emotion, Logic, Magic or Tech. While it may be clear which dice you should roll for certain actions and abilities, most are left intentionally ambiguous so that the dice you roll depends largely on your approach.
For example, you will always roll for Emotion when empathising with another person. However, when it comes to intimidating someone, you would only roll for Emotion if you are scaring the target by being loud, forceful, and imposing. If you are simply cold, dark, and forbidding, then you would roll for Logic instead. Similarly, you can replace your d6 dice pool for d8s if you perform a terrifying display of Magic, or play on a target’s fear of Tech.
It’s because of this ambiguity that it’s important for you to not only decide what abilities you will use to solve a problem, but also explain your approach. Ultimately, it is up to the game master (GM) to decide which dice you should roll whenever you perform an action, though you can always make a case as to why you should roll a different dice pool.
