Marsupial

Immortal Freedom RPG > Non-player Entities (NPCs) > Animals

Marsupials are a diverse group of mammals whose young are born in a relatively undeveloped state and are then nurtured within a pouch on their mother's abdomen. Marsupials have typical mammalian characteristics, including mammary glands, three middle ear bones and ears that usually have tragi, varying in hearing thresholds, true hair and bone structure.[1]

Animals do not generally attack unprovoked. They only engage in combat if:

  • They feel threatened,
  • They’re defending their young or territory,
  • They’re desperately hungry,
  • They’re confused, or,
  • They’re diseased or in pain.

Most animals avoid conflict, preferring survival to undue violence. Animals only fight to the death if they’re protecting something or they’re cornered. Otherwise, they flee at the first sign of hostility. Predators usually fight until they’re unstable, at which point they retreat.
