Feline

Immortal Freedom RPG > Non-player Entities (NPCs) > Animals

Felines are mammals with retractile claws, slender muscular bodies, and strong flexible forelimbs. Their teeth and facial muscles allow for a powerful bite. They are obligate carnivores, and most are solitary predators ambushing or stalking their prey. Some wild feline species are adapted to forest and savanna habitats, some to arid environments, and a few also to wetlands and mountainous terrain. Their activity patterns range from nocturnal and crepuscular to diurnal, depending on their preferred prey species.[1]

Animals do not generally attack unprovoked. They only engage in combat if:

  • They feel threatened,
  • They’re defending their young or territory,
  • They’re desperately hungry,
  • They’re confused, or,
  • They’re diseased or in pain.

Most animals avoid conflict, preferring survival to undue violence. Animals only fight to the death if they’re protecting something or they’re cornered. Otherwise, they flee at the first sign of hostility. Predators usually fight until they’re unstable, at which point they retreat.
